The hyperterminal tag has no usage guidance.
Well I upgraded my PC after decades (From PIV and Windows XP (Yes that is right)).
The New OS I installed is Microsoft Windows 7 (Win7)
As I am an engineer and electronics hobyist I need the com port a lot. Almost all the gadgets i build or use need it.
I have been using Hilgreave hyperterminal (a free software distributed with Microsoft Windows upto XP) for many years for this purpose.
But when I needed it (for a little project) Win7 did not have it. although CMD.exe can be used for sending to com ports I searched for the good old hyperterminal.
Then I turned to the web only to find that it is no more available with newer Windows installations. (Funny).
So I tried the hilgreave website (www.hilgraeve.com/) but they were selling it for a price of $65. I find that quite high.
I had the Win XP CD backed up in my HDD. So I had Access to copressed version of the Hyperterminal.
Please note: Owning the Win-XP makes me the legitimate owner of it
The texture of the Silk Non-Dairy Yogurt Alternative is very smooth and creamy. This was one of those times) The Beloved and I ate the strawberry container straight. They sent me both a strawberry and a vanilla cup, each containing 5.3 oz. It is the texture of “regular” yogurt, not strained or Greek yogurt. Since I knew I wanted to make pancakes with the vanilla (sometimes I get a product and know immediately what I want to make. Silk non dairy yogurt.
I decompressed the required files and TADA.. I had 'Hyperterminal' up and running. Following Steps will Tell you how it is done.

HyperACCESS is a family of terminal emulation software by Hilgraeve. A version of HyperACCESS, called HyperTerminal is included in some versions of Windows.
It was the first software product from Hilgraeve, and it was initially designed to let 8-bit Heath computers communicate over a modem. In 1985, this same product was ported to IBM PCs and compatible systems, as well as Heath/Zenith's Z-100 non-PC-compatible MS-DOS computer. Over the years, the same version of this technology would be ported to other operating systems, including OS/2, Windows 95 and Windows NT. It has earned a total of five Editor's Choice awards from PC Magazine.
In 1995, Hilgraeve licensed a low-end version of HyperACCESS, known as HyperTerminal, to Microsoft for use in their set of communications utilities. It was bundled with Windows 95 through Windows XP, but is no longer bundled with Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, or later Windows.
The commercial products, HyperTerminal Private Edition and HyperACCESS, both support all versions of Windows up to and including Windows 10.
Is there any replacement program for HyperTerminal for Windows XP, to work same stuff ?My hyperterminal in communications is empty ( don't know why and I don't have installation CD for xp anymore ). Please help
PuTTY is a free alternative to HyperTerminal.
Another free alternative is Tera Term.

As a replacement for HyperTerminal, I can suggest RealTerm (http://realterm.sourceforge.net/), but you can't use it for dialing Modems or BBS Systems. (Read on the Homepage)
